GATHERING FALL:
Eco Printing Workshop
Bundle Dye Leaf Printing with Annie Simms
DATE: Sat, Oct 25
TIME: 11am - 2:30pm
COST: $100 includes taxes and materials
Fallen leaves in an eco-print practice can be a pathway to learn the names, wisdom and offerings of surrounding trees. Together we will contemplate fallen leaves and learn the names of the trees they come from. We will tap into and ground with the cyclical time scales the fall season represents.
We will begin to explore how to cultivate a meaningful land-based arts practice on the traditional territories of the Tla’amin Nation. Contemplating these starting questions: Where Are You? Who was here before you? Who do you share this space with? How can I harvest honorably?
We will investigate not only the poetics of falling leaves but also their tangible use in our environment. Who uses fallen leaves as habitat? How do fallen leaves contribute to our soil and ecosystem?
*This workshop will involve a short foraging walk outdoors so please dress for the weather.
