Lino Printmaking with Jessica Salvador

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you try every stage of the printmaking process. Using ocean themed pre-carved blocks, you will do multi-block printing, carve your own salmon shaped lino blocks and make a fun booklet of salmon prints.
Instructor Jessica Salvador will guide you through the entire process from transferring an image, carving, inking, and printing. Print by hand, without the need for a press, and print using a registration tool to make multi-block prints. Take inspiration from our collection of templates, practice with pre-carved blocks or make your own design during free play time. You will have a chance to experiment with painterly printmaking techniques to make unique art.
[Jessica is the Artist in Residence at Tidal Art Centre for the month of October]

| Instructor Bio: | Jessica Salvador is a visual artist based in Vancouver, BC. Jessica spends her days running her landscaping business and evenings making art at her studio (after a refreshing swim in the ocean!) Jessica loves the duality of art: it is both a solitary practice, and a great way to bring people together through events and workshops. Always encouraging the creatively curious to express themselves more freely, Jessica’s workshops focus on both technique and experimentation to help participants grow in their artistic practice. In her studio, she makes art that speaks in reply to the language of nature using acrylics, pen and ink, gouache and lots of linoleum! Reach out to her on Instagram or her website for questions, ideas and inspiration. Jessica loves to chat about art and to get involved in new projects. www.jessicasalvador.com @jessicasalvadorart |
